Sangeeta Basu established Magic Eye in 2015 as a sole proprietorship firm engaged with all things educational. She works with a team of advisors and consultants. Sangeeta has worked for thirty years in prominent schools, colleges and professional institutes across India conducting workshops on the process of teaching and learning for students, parents, teachers and independent groups of adults. Sangeeta writes stories and poems for children as well as adults. She has been published by Hachette. Some of her work has also been self-published. She has written and published books of non-fiction on the teaching and learning of Language.
Vishal is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Irvine where he works on data management with a focus on privacy and security in IoT domains. He received his masters from the University of Cambridge after graduating with honours from the University of California, Davis in Computer Science and Philosophy. Vishal has always loved teaching in and beyond the classroom. His decade-long experience as an educator has taught him the importance of traditional pedagogy. However, he is passionate about learning and implementing new approaches to teaching and learning.
Mohor has always been fascinated by visual and typographical elements that work together to support a narrative. She loves exploring how layout and type can establish and amplify the mood, tone and ultimately the experience of texts. A visual designer with nearly a decade of experience in designing publications and book objects, Mohor is keenly interested in print processes and texts with educational aspects. She approaches her work with a playful curiosity that opens up exciting design possibilities, enhances learning processes, and makes them more effective and appealing. Her other interests include illustration, artistic practices, photography and pedagogical processes. She has studied Interdisciplinary Art and Design from Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore with a focus on Visual Communication Design and Museum and Gallery Studies.
Aavirash Mitra is a Visual Artist with a focus on Illustration, Animation and Filmmaking. Aavirash was born and raised in Kolkata, India, and currently lives in Berlin, Germany, where he works as a Design Team Lead for a leading Digital Learning Company. After moving to Germany and graduating with a Masters Degree in Expanded Media from Hochshule Darmstadt, Aavirash is working as a Multimedia Designer in Berlin. His short film “Banaras the Poem”, shot, edited and co-created with his father Anjan Mitra, won the Best Experimental Film Award in the Tagore International Film Festival in Bolpur and got selected for screening in festivals around the world. The film was screened in Athens, Greece, and Berlin, Germany. Alongside working as a Design Leader, Aavirash is also the founder and creator of “Asquareportal” a creative studio, education company and YouTube Channel. He offers courses in creative skills including Writing, Digital Art, Animation, Filmmaking, and Graphic Design. He creates short films about the creative process.
Divya Somani has a BA in English Literature from Ashoka University. Ever since she completed her graduation, she has been working at a not-for-profit organisation named India Autism Center where she is responsible for Outreach. She is passionate about learning and spends all her time outside work honing one creative skill or another. This precarious act of juggling often goes awry and ends up with her oversleeping and missing important commitments. But, she never stops trying. She dreams of building a learning environment which nurtures curiosity, courage, and freedom.
